MICHAEL MONAR

Founder, President

For over 30 years, Mike Monar has been gaining experience in organizational development, talent and change management, succession planning, 360 assessments, and other human resources aspects of organizational behavior. Nearly twenty of these years were spent as president of Monar Consulting, a small independent firm based out of Evanston, IL.

In his time as a consultant, Mike has worked with a variety of teams and a larger variety of team members. He has extensive experience working with highly skilled, highly technical employees such as engineers, IT specialists, scientists, and accountants—to name a few—that are in need of communication and relationship skill-based expertise.

Through a succession planning approach, Mike has been able to identify and develop high potential individuals within clients’ organizations. He has administered various assessments to the individuals in these organizations and then provided management and leadership development training to those identified as high potential. Adaptive and innovative, Mike has developed a multifaceted portfolio with a wide variety of skills to pull from when serving any client.

MAGGIE JAHN

Associate Consultant

For the past year, Maggie Jahn has been involved as a consultant and project manager at Monar Consulting. In her time, she has used her expertise in designing and facilitating trainings and workshops dedicated to organizational and professional development for several Fortune 500 companies, among others. One such project had her designing and distributing the tools on how to give an effective presentation to a joint engineering and construction company; she built and circulated participant workbooks, facilitator notes, and hands-on learning activities. As project manager, she was able to assemble and direct her team by focusing on strengths, building effective relationships, and encouraging personal development.

Maggie has also created, built, and implemented an innovative training for a not-for-profit organization in her time as an undergraduate at University of Arizona. The training was aimed at increasing leadership effectiveness within the organization. To create a cost effective solution to leadership, the training included a self-led workbook and guidelines for facilitating each group session, all materials that Maggie crafted and compiled.

Before moving back to Chicago, Maggie received her bachelor’s degree at The University of Arizona in Business, Communications, and Psychology. In May 2011, she graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with her Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
